Nevada Northern Railway
Custom Web Design / Web Development

Bringing historic railway adventures to the digital screen.
The Nevada Northern Railway wanted a digital home that truly reflected the depth of their living history. As a National Historic Landmark, they wanted to share the wonder of America’s best-preserved historic short-line railroad, from real train rides to deep historical archives. After looking closely at how visitors plan trips and explore history, we focused on making a huge amount of information easy to navigate. We turned the exciting, historic feeling of riding a vintage train into a memorable, clean digital experience.

The Challenge
How do we organize history? The challenge was exactly that. We needed to shift from an overwhelming web layout with endless links to a simple, welcoming path for visitors. With so much to offer, including booking train rides, exploring online archives, checking live webcams, and learning about movie history, the site could easily feel cluttered. To make things easy for tourists, history lovers, and volunteers alike, we focused directly on what users look for first. By mixing bold, classic colors with a neat layout, we made a custom look that handles a massive archive while keeping trip planning simple and fun.

Our Objectives
01.
Streamline the Info.
Use clean UX and UI design to organize a massive library of museum pages, media, and archives so everything is easy to find.
02.
Simplify Ticket Booking.
Structure the layout to make planning a trip, checking schedules, and booking train rides completely effortless for tourists.
03.
Highlight the History.
Create beautiful, clear spaces to showcase their landmark status, including live webcams, fun facts, and historic collections.
04.
Drive Community Support.
Design direct, friendly pathways for donations, memberships, volunteering, and sponsorships to keep this history alive.

The Impact
The new website does not just list train schedules and museum details. It gives people an exciting look into a real, moving piece of history. By combining smart layouts with a clean look, the site makes it simple for history lovers to explore archives and for families to plan their next train adventure.
The result is a premium, easy-to-read website that neatly handles a massive amount of information while bringing casual web browsers closer to the magic of the rails.
